737 Yoke Arrives!

Posted by Matt On June - 4 - 2011

What do they say, good things come to those who wait?

Well, my first 737 Yoke arrived and it is nothing short of a beautiful piece of art!

I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a yoke! It is a great engineered piece, that looks and feels quite real! Tell Ali Matt sent ya if you order one. It may take a few months to get one, but it’s worth the wait!

The finish is smooth and feels great in my hands! The tension is fantastic. It has the stab/trim switches on the left, as well as the a/p disconnect. On the back of each side there is a momentary rocker for keying up your mic/atc. The chart holder looks great and is very well designed. What a great yoke!!!

I did some simple setup in FSUIPC but haven’t flown with it yet. Hopefully tomorrow! The FO is next, sometime this summer!

WOW!

Here are a few quick photos!

737 Yokes Order Placed!

Posted by Matt On December - 21 - 2010

I’ve placed my order for two of the best 737 Yokes currently on the market, from ACE’s site, found at www.737yoke.com! They are very popular right now and so I should see these beauties in the cockpit in about 8-12 weeks. But not bad considering the quality of these yokes! Definitely go check out these yokes, they are awsome looking! I also want to send a very special thank you to the owner, Ali, who has been great during my entire transaction with him. Thanks Ali!

Sim Update 09-04-09

Posted by Matt On September - 5 - 2009

Just a couple of updates. The old ch rudder pedals and the saitek yoke “work” and I use that term lightly. I can’t “wait”!!! to replace those things… So while the FDS glare gets cut and coated, I’ve setup the projector. Tomorrow I’ll install the screen. Here’s a pict of the sim as it stands right now, need to now build the FO’s chair. (Office stand in as stand by) And below of it running with the just the Captain/FO PFD/ND and the EICAS with the projector.

A good “test” of the projector, with no screen! But the eye point is completely wrong.

When it’s ceiling mounted that will be corrected. (See image below)

I just found my yoke!

Posted by Matt On June - 7 - 2009

My sim is in our spare bedroom in our apartment. (Which also acts as an office) The main issue is well, I have a carpet floor. That means, there is no “under belly” of my sim. Usually in enclosed cockpit simulators the control column of the yoke goes under the floor, where a linkage system runs over to the F/O side so that if you move the yoke in any way, it moves on the F/O side as well.

But what do you do if you 1. Have no under floor, or 2. Have no F/O side?

Well, the team at http://www.737yoke.com just solved that. In face, they state their yoke doesn’t even have to be mounted at all. I find that a little odd, but regardless of that fact, this is the best yoke for my situation!

Now to save up!
