Over the past week I added a few light switches behind the overhead. Since I don’t have a working aft overhead yet, these work well!

Revolution-Simproducts Landing Light Switches!
Just got an email from Eren over at Revolution-Simproducts, you know, the company that makes the best TQ ever that I use in my cockpit. Well, now they are making Boeing 737 Landing Light Switches! Very cool and very affordable! If I didn’t have real landing light switches already I would be ordering these right away. Check out the detail!! Great job Revolution, keep it up!
Cockpit Test Flight July 2010
Since my last major test flight, I’ve added many new things to the simulator. The overhead, the throttle quadrant, the interface cards, radios, the cdu and more. Well, it was time to run the test flight from KLAX to KRIV to test everything out! Found several bugs I’ll have to fix, but that is exactly why I do this test flight. Sit back and relax and enjoy the flight!

Overhead Backlighting Completed
Builders Note: Paint your annunciators or LED holders!! Light WILL bleed through them. :) I had to basically go back in and use liquid tape to cover every annunciator backing to prevent bleed through from the backlighting. But that wasn’t so bad actually because the liquid tape will prevent electrical shorts. My original concept of backlighting using the same LED strip lights I have for the MIP/Glare lighting didn’t come through, because it seems those LED strip lights have been discontinued. I ended up using rope lights that use miniature incandescent bulbs, which are spaced 1″ apart. They glow a soft yellow and look pretty good. The pictures don’t do it justice. Tomorrow I hang the overhead.
